Leisure Asset Map
Created community leisure asset maps in partnership with RSC 2 & 10 community developers, provincial sport and recreation consultants, and other allied community stakeholders.

Stakeholder Conversations
Identified over 70 community poverty reduction stakeholders and conducted roughly 50 informal interviews/conversations to understand the work they do in community and the opportunities and challenges they face supporting equity deserving citizens.

Identified community connectors; individuals that work closely to support equity deserving citizens. Connectors have helped us recruit equity deserving citizens for community engagement workshops.

Community Engagement
Facilitated community engagement workshops with equity deserving citizens in RSC 2 & 10. The workshops are meant to create a deeper understanding of the activities citizens currently participate in, the community leisure places they access, and the barriers and enabling supports required for participation in sport, recreation and leisure.

Design Sprint Series
The Design Sprint involved a select team of equity-owed residents and community practitioners. Drawing upon the analyzed data and observations from the fieldwork, the team engaged in an intensive 6-week workshop series to develop innovative solutions to address identified barriers.
June 2023 - September 2023
Prototyping
The team of equity-owed residents are prototyping the System Shifters concept. The purpose is to shift the system by co-creating new ideas to implement in communities to address barriers and cultivate a sense of belonging and dignified access to SRL.
March 2024 - June 2024
Francophone Design Sprint Team Recruitment and Kick Off
The Design team involved a mix of residents and community practitioners from the Heron Bay region. Drawing from project learnings so far and data from groundwork interviews in the region, the team engaged in a 6 part workshop series to develop innovative solutions to address identified barriers.

Prototyping
The Design team is prototyping the Heron Bay Tactic, using the lessons learned from the previous tactics and research to connect with equity-owed residents and SRL providers in the region to co-create solutions around cultivating a sense of belonging and dignified access to existing community assets in the region.

Provincial Shareholder Conversation
Facilitated the “Below the Surface” discussion with provincial sport, recreation and leisure partners.

Facilitated D4B Training
Facilitated the virtual interactive and collaborative learning experience centred on igniting new ways of designing and delivering physical activity, recreation, sport, and leisure programs and services that deepen the sense of belonging in communities to 9 community service providers.

Reaching Year Three Outcomes
Evaluated D4B training, wrapped up the System Shifters prototype, and advocated for the continuation of the Reimagining Sport, Recreation and Leisure project.
